If you are a native to Kern County, then you know the summer months in Bakersfield are mildly… excruciating. Which is why when I need to photograph anything outdoors during these times, I dress appropriately for the hot and uncomfortable summers we have. Shorts, tank tops, etc.
Soooo… when I showed up to the ice rink for the first half of Kelci and Garrett’s engagement session, I realized rather quickly that while I was dressed appropriately for the season, I was not dressed appropriately for winter. >insert laughing face here<
Luckily, I found a Fresno State hoodie in my car and we were good to go! (Go Bulldogs!)
You may be wondering why we started at the ice rink, yes? Other than to escape this dreadful heat, we started at the place where the magic began.
Kelci loves to ice skate. Garrett, not so much. However, Garrett loves Kelci so much that he invited her to partake in one of her most favorite activities. It was there that he decided he wanted to propose a lifelong partnership with his beloved. (High five to Garrett in the thoughtfulness department!)
Kelci pledged her forever to the man of her dreams and they are engaged to be married this November.
We ended the session at the place where they will make their forever vows to one another. The day was beautiful and bright and I can’t wait to continue this love story later this year. {Stay tuned!}
Congratulations, Kelci & Garrett!
