Deanna & Gene met through friends and felt immediate chemistry. One of their biggest connections? Their enthusiasm and love for all things Disney!
{Remember their Disneyland engagement session?}
One of the stories you didn’t get to hear yet is how Gene proposed.
You see, since they are both HUGE Disney fans and frequent the park quite often, he knew that the proposal had to take place at the happiest place on Earth. He had a trip planned, ring ordered and all was set…….. except that just before leaving, he found out that the ring wasn’t going to be ready in time!
However, instead of panicking and letting this small setback ruin his proposal trip, he improvised with purchasing a small Mickey Mouse trinket ring from one of the stores inside the park upon arrival. (You can find a photo of the ring in their ENGAGED blog post.) 🙂
He carried this ring around all day, waiting for the perfect moment. He set off security monitors every time they entered and exited a store which increased his anxiety… he didn’t want a backpack search to ruin the surprise!
He was able to maintain composure and then, when the opportunity was right and the mood was set, he got down on one knee and asked his princess to be his wife right in the middle of Beast’s library. (*Perfection* if you ask me, since “Beauty & the Beast” happens to be Deanna’s favorite movie!)
>>>insert ooh’s and ahh’s here!<<< 😉
So, now that you have a little background as to how sweet and thoughtful these two lovebirds are… let’s journey on to catch a glimpse of the wedding.
Deanna & Gene had some of the most amazing little touches of detail at their wedding! When you hear someone say, “I’m going to have a Disney themed wedding!”, you might envision a very bright, cartoony type decor, right?
Nope.
Not these two. They took their vision, and with the help of their event planning staff, they created one of the classiest, most timeless and thoughtfully planned out Disney themed weddings ever. The details were amazing!
Take a peek with me… and look for the “hidden Mickey’s!”
***One of the very special Mickey’s is the clutch purse designed by Katherine Baumann of Beverly Hills that was presented to the late Annette Funicello. Special thank you to Debbie Hanson for sharing it with us at the ceremony. – Gene & Deanna Hanson***
Bridesmaids break! 😉 hehe…
If you can’t tell from the photos, Mr. & Mrs. Hanson celebrated in style, surrounded by their closest family and friends… and it was SO MUCH FUN!
Thank you Deanna & Gene for allowing me to capture your love story! <3
And a big thank you to the wonderful Casey Hardy for second shooting and assisting! 🙂
