“Being a family means you are a part of something very wonderful. It means you will love and be loved for the rest of your life, no matter what.”
As I approached the bridal suite at the Padre Hotel on the morning of Marcy & Chuy’s wedding, I couldn’t help but smile as I entered her room and saw the scene before me. Bridesmaids bustling about, teasing one another. Delicate and beautiful details. Makeup, hairspray… and more hairspray, Dresses and flowers and jewelry… So much action and fun! The sound of laughter was contagious!
With the help of her glam squad, Marcy was being primped and polished into the most exquisite bride.
The feeling of love in the room was intoxicating. Marcy was surrounded by so many people that loved and cared for her happiness.
Not far away, Chuy was having the time of his life as his boys (aka the groomsmen) helped him get ready for his forever “I do” to the woman of his dreams.
Although the energy level was high and the jokes flowed like water, there was a special, quiet moment when Chuy presented his new son with a handkerchief that belonged to his late father. *insert choked up sniffle here*… there wasn’t a dry eye in the room.
The tears don’t end there, however.
Marcy started off being escorted down the aisle by her father. Halfway down, there was a handoff to her son Gabriel. He joyfully escorted his mom the rest of the way to give her hand to Chuy to complete the union of their families.
There were so many special touches at the reception as well…
Marcy and Chuy shared their parents’ favorite love song to dance to with their parents. The song held special meaning to them all.
A framed photograph of Marcy’s late mother gifted from family.
A playback of a recording of Chuy’s late father giving a toast at his sister’s wedding reception before he passed… so special and touching!
The Perez wedding was definitely a wedding to remember.
Congratulations, Marcy & Chuy! May you have many beautiful years of marriage together!
