He Slid into her DMs, Hart Park Family Engagement Session

How did you meet?

He said:

We initially met in a small group at CSUB, I honestly don’t remember this encounter but she swears it took place. Years later I stumbled across her page on social media and was taken back by her intellect, beauty and the way she carried herself. I slid in her DM’s and asked to get to know her.

After a couple days of exchange in small talk I worked up the courage to ask her out on a date, and you know what she said? “NO.” I didn’t let this stop me and I was persistent until she finally said “Yes” after asking two more times. My Steve Urkel level persistence paid off, because here we are!!!!

She said:

We met at CSUB, we had mutual friends and reconnected on social media. He sent me a private message on Instagram telling me he wanted to get to know me better and asked me if he could take me out sometime. I was a bit reluctant initially but after a few conversations and a few dates I realized he just may be the one I’d spend the rest of my life with. He has always been such a gentleman from our very first encounter!

How did the proposal unfold?

He said:

Even though I proposed at the 6th month mark, I purchased the ring 2 months before. I was waiting on the perfect time to propose but didn’t want it to be too obvious. Her birthday was coming up and I thought it would be the perfect time to pop the question.

But. . . . I knew that she would expect me to do it then, and I was right. After a nice dinner I could tell that she was looking for me to grab the rooms attention for an announcement, NOT TODAY. Wasn’t happening.

Fast forward to a month later it was a Friday night, We had a small date night and were riding in the car and I was playing “Happily Ever after” by Case on repeat. She didn’t even notice. I told her I needed to make a pit stop at home to grab something. I walked into the house to get the ring, and walked behind her. I was nervous so I was mumbling while we were small talking. Before she turned around I got down on one knee. When she turned around I said a bunch of things, none of which I remember except “Will you marry me????”

How did you feel about your engagement session?

We were a bit nervous going into the session because we didn’t know what to expect, but that was the most comfortable photo session either of us had experienced. Everything flowed so smoothly and it felt like it was just another day spending time together as a family. We knew we had found our forever photographer turned family friend this day!

I love doing family engagement sessions and this one did not disappoint. I couldn’t get enough! Kei & Akadius have the most beautiful souls. Their love for each other and their family shines!

We had an absolute GREAT time hanging out and little Miss K was a natural in front of my camera. I adore this little girl and her inner light just radiates the kind of energy that makes you want to chat all day.
