Here are a few frequently asked questions and their answers to help you get started. If you have a question that isn’t answered here, please email or call me and I would be happy to answer any questions you may have!
Where are you located?
Bakersfield, California
Are you available for travel?
Absolutely! Please take me somewhere! 😉 My passport is current and I would love to go on an adventure with you.
How long have you been shooting?
I’ve been in business since 2008, but working with my camera for as long as I can remember.
Do you have insurance?
Absolutely. I gotchu! If your venue requires proof of insurance, have them contact me (or I will reach out) and we will get it squared away.
Do we get all of the digital images?
I am a full service photographer which means I would not be doing my job if I only gave you the ingredients and expected you to create your own products. It’s my job to give you a finished, edited, and beautiful product to enjoy for years! That being said, you can get digital galleries depending on the package you choose.
What comes with the portrait session fee?
Time and vision of artist, vision consultation before session, design consultation at viewing, and $175 product credit.
I don’t know what to wear! Help!
We’ll go over all of that in our vision consultation, but I always tell clients that they should wear something they feel comfortable in. Something that will let your true personality shine through! We will discuss your vision and I will help you choose according to the location and intention of the session.
I’m so awkward in front of the camera, will you pose me?
Don’t feel bad, I am too! I will direct you and guide you into natural positions that are beautiful and flattering.
I’m so excited to see my images! When will my photos be ready?
After your session, I start by backing up your files to ensure they don’t get lost. Then I’ll stare at your beautiful faces for a few hours, adding in some awesome sauce to your images. You’ll come back to my studio in about 2 weeks to view them and choose your favorites. Then I will guide you into choosing the best products to fit your needs. Expect to wait about 1 week for print products and up to 3 weeks for canvas and albums.
Can we make payments?
Absolutely! However, final print products will not be ordered until final payment is received.
Do you take credit cards?
Yes!
Do you post sneak peeks?
With your permission, yup!
Can I share on social media?
Yes! Unaltered images and photo credit is always appreciated. Bonus points if you tag me!
We don’t need an engagement session, can we substitute?
Engagement sessions are complimentary and do not hold monetary value. It’s my gift to you… We do engagement sessions as an icebreaker and a way to get to know one another before the wedding. We’ll go over this in more detail at your consultation.
Can I change my wedding package later?
Of course! You can upgrade your package at any time.
Can we break up our wedding hours?
Your collection hours must be consecutive so unfortunately, no.
Can we add more hours?
Of course!
When is our remaining wedding balance due?
2 weeks before your event.
Why should we take a photographer to our destination vs. using the venue photographer there?
A lot of times, the venue will hire their photographers based on the lowest bidder. This does not always ensure you will get the best photos. Having a photographer at your event whose sole priority is you and you alone provides a lot of peace of mind. I am more readily accessible to you than a local at your destination.
Unplugged weddings. What is it? Why should I consider having one?
An unplugged wedding means there are no devices (iPhones, iPads) or cameras at the wedding ceremony except for the hired professional. This allows guests to be present in the moment and leave the photography to us. Well-meaning family members often times block important moments and this kind of ceremony is highly recommended to prevent that!
When do we get our wedding gallery?
6-8 weeks is the typical turnaround time.
When do we get our wedding album?
If your package comes with an album, delivery is typically 4 weeks from approval date. Each album is handcrafted and the process is meticulous.
How do we retain you?
Retainer is $800 to hold your date on my calendar. Balance is due 2 weeks before the wedding date.
What if we have to cancel or postpone the wedding?
Your retainer is non-refundable. However, I allow one courtesy postponement depending on the situation. As long as you are moving the date to an open date on my calendar, I will credit your retainer to the new date. You will need to put another retainer down to make this valid.
