One year ago, with the help of some amazing people, we pulled off a gorgeously styled editorial photo shoot that ended with a magical proposal.
See… what had happened was…
I had been brainstorming with fellow creatives in our industry and we wanted to put together an editorial photo shoot showcasing the creative talents we all had to offer. Cassie does my hair and she happened to fit perfectly into our vision for a boho bride. After she agreed, we quickly got to work pulling the team together.
Somehow in the midst of planning, we jokingly hinted to Darin that this would be the perfect set up for a proposal… and he agreed!! This made the planning even more exciting and magical!
We convinced Cassie to ask Darin to step in as a male model for our shoot. She told us that he probably wouldn’t… but hehe… little did she know…
Not only did he say yes, he suggested and offered to let us use his grandfather’s backyard hideaway/paradise for the event. The backyard is a special place that holds a lot of sentimental and nostalgic mementos for the family. There have been multiple family weddings hosted in this space and Cassie and Darin’s own wedding reception will be held here as well.
Congratulations Cas & Darin! Thank you for allowing us to be a part of the big surprise! I can’t wait to finish shooting the rest of this love story for you in just 42 days!!
A HUGE thank you to Irma and Laura at Simply Shabby Chic Events. These ladies worked HARD in the miserable July heat to set up and style the space… all while dodging the watchdog-goose! 😉
Enjoy… and stay tuned for the wedding story soon!
We couldn’t have pulled off this fabulous surprise without the help of this AMAZING creative team:
