“You are forever and always the hero of my heart, the love of life.”
If you live in Bakersfield, Ca, or have any experience with Bakersfield, Ca, then you know that we suffer from what we like to call “bi-polar weather” conditions.
Hot and cold. That’s it. It’s either summer or winter. Rarely do we get to experience spring and fall. We jump from extreme heat to extreme cold practically overnight.
Seriously.
So when the month of May started out so wonderfully, none of us complained. We were experiencing some really nice and cool sunny days… perfect spring weather! Typically, it’s hotter-than-heck out in May but the week leading up to the Buoni wedding was gorgeous! We couldn’t have asked for better weather!
Dun dun dun.
Enter bi-polar weather.
A few days before the wedding, I received a frantic phone call from Irma with news of an imminent thunderstorm… and what were the odds that it was ONLY forecasted for THE ONE day of this gorgeous affair? With the reception set at the family farm, in the open, outdoors… a rainstorm would absolutely ruin the entire set up!
As wedding vendors, it is our job to prepare for the worst so we started brainstorming back up plans… as well as stalking the weather forecast. And boy, did that forecast jump around sporadically! The chance of rain was all over the place… 80, 90, 30, 50, 80 percent… my goodness! We were on the edge of our seats!!
Good thing the bride and groom are cool and collected people. Gino has worked his farm in Bakersfield for years so “threats” of a thunderstorm didn’t phase him.
The night before the wedding, it started raining. No, more like pouring. Not the typical drizzle or sprinkle that we are accustomed to calling “rain”. It was raining buckets and buckets of rain.
Now don’t get me wrong, we need it… a lot of it… but really?
Luckily, when we awoke on Friday, the skies had cleared just enough for us to pull off a wonderful, fabulous event with no rain!
The team did a beautiful job creating a family dinner table that took up the entire length of the driveway. There were so many beautiful details to the Buoni wedding… just take a look and see! Here are a few of our favorites from this fabulous affair… enjoy!
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Buoni! May you share a long and beautiful marriage!
