Is?

DISNEYLAND!  :)

Filled with magic and excitement, it’s the perfect place for a marriage proposal, right?

This beautiful young couple met through a family member and became friends immediately.  They talked for a couple weeks and then he left for Navy Boot Camp.  Since then, they’ve had a long distance friendship and realized how crazy in love they were with each other.  On one of Andrew’s trips back home, they went to Disneyland (which happens to be a favorite place for both of them) and popped the big question.  He asked the park for a private moment and they kept the castle roped off for him to do his thang.  How sweet and romantic is THAT?!  What girl would not want to be proposed to in front of Cinderella’s castle?  hmmm??  ;)  lol!  Fabulous I tell ya!

They asked me if I would be willing to go to Disneyland for the day to shoot their engagement photos… um.  YEAH!  :)  We had a fabulous time!  I’ve known Andrew for awhile now and he’s always got a smile on his face.  Brittany is super duper sweet and is going to make a beautiful bride and wonderful wife! :)  They invited me along to Club 33 as well where we enjoyed a fantabulous gourmet meal!  WOW!  I had a blast with you guys!  Can’t wait for the wedding! :)

Here’s a quick peek into their magical engagement session…

(A quick side note…)

As today is Veteran’s Day, I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone that has served our country in one way or another… your sacrifices are not unnoticed and are greatly appreciated.  While we were taking these photos, I kept hearing people behind me saying, “Thank you”.  The most touching moment was when a kid about 8 or 9 made it a point to walk up to Andrew and say very pointedly, “Thank you.”  It honestly made me just stop in my tracks and gaze in awe at this kid!  Wow!  I love our country!!  :)  Please take a moment today to thank a service member for their beautiful sacrifice and service to our country and our people. :)

Enjoy!

Sylvia: cute.. cute.. cute!!! I want to go to Disneyland now.. I love the "more adventure... is in the works" picture.. ;)

A soft cool breeze on a warm autumn day.  A sky colored with beautiful shades of blue and dotted with big, fluffy white clouds dancing playfully about.  The atmosphere is calm and peaceful.  A perfect forecast for a fabulous wedding!

As a fly on a wall, you find bridesmaids getting hair wrapped in gigantic curls and getting their faces dolled up with beautiful shades of makeup.  Groomsmen playing poker and laughing at “The Wedding Crashers”.  Giggles and laughter erupting from the bride’s dressing room as the girls crack jokes with one another.  There’s a beautiful little princess twirling about in her tutu as she prepares for her role as the flower girl.  The father of the bride is giving neck massages and adjustments to calm the girls before their walk down the aisle.  Most amazing of all, a bride that is the absolute epitome of calm, cool and collected.  Being organized was key here.  (And I guess getting married to “groomzilla” as the bridesmaids lovingly dubbed the groom doesn’t hurt either…) ;)  As the groom sat in his dressing room going over the tiniest of details, the day was unraveling to become one of the most organized and beautifully planned weddings ever. :)

I should say, Jacqueline and Oliver hold a very dear and special place in my heart.  I met Jacqueline almost a year ago at an event through a friend.  After chatting with her a bit and offering wedding photography services, I remember walking away hoping and praying that they would take a chance with me.  You see, I had a pretty well stocked portrait portfolio but no wedding portfolio whatsoever.  We chatted a couple more times and met once to go over questions and concerns.  Oliver was a very involved groom…  not at all the NID type of groom. You know… ” Not Into Details”?  (from The Wedding Planner with Jennifer Lopez)… ;) Quite the contrary actually.  He was VERY into the details…  :)

I didn’t hear from them for awhile and figured that they had decided to go with someone else.  So you can understand my elation when I got the email from them confirming that they wanted to book ME as their photographer.  As my FIRST officially booked wedding, I am excited to share with you a small peek into their magical day. :)

Jacqueline and Oliver, thank you so much for not only trusting me but inviting me to be a part of your special day… I feel honored and privileged to have been there with you, your family and your friends as we captured your love story.  :)

I’d also like to send a special thanks to Jennifer Williams for being such a FABULOUS assistant… you rock girlie! :)
