Artsy Maternity

September 25, 2009

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to work with a creative soul.  A beautiful girl full of ideas and vision.  She wanted a “not your average” maternity session.  I was more than happy to oblige.  I’d been feeling a little worn out and creatively zapped so this was just the kind of session I needed to get my creative juices flowing again!  We had a blast!  Thanks Angela for being so fabulous! :)

{btw… Angela delivered her bouncing bundle of BOY today… help me wish her a huge CONGRATS!!!!!!}

Enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be Blessed!

Baby Bumps & Silhouettes

September 17, 2009

A few months ago (actually more like almost a year ago…), I had an idea that I was itching to try but no willing or available subjects.  If you’ve ever had a baby or visited an OB’s office, you’ve seen the posters that have each stage of pregnancy and the changes that happen to the mother’s body while her precious lil one is being perfectly formed…  AND if you’re a mom, you most likely have taken the “belly” snapshots during each month of your pregnancy…

So, how cool would it be to have a silhouette photo documenting each stage of your changing form?  :)

I got a “guess who’s pregnant?” phone call one day  and I knew INSTANTLY that I had found my model!  Melissa is creative, super sweet, beautiful and most importantly (for this project) down to try just about anything once!  lol! ;)  It was a long project in the making but one that was well worth the wait.

If you (or someone you know) are newly pregnant or plan to be soon, contact me to find out more about the Baby Bumps & Silhouettes story board….  It’s a wonderful keepsake for you and your family.  :)

A firehouse and a mama…

April 28, 2009

She’s studying to be a teacher.  He’s a firefighter.  They volunteer at their church as Sunday school teachers.  Active in bible study and groups, this couple is sweeter than sweet!  A model husband and wife team, their relationship is one that will seriously have you saying, “Aaaawwwwww!”   I always think “white picket fence” when I think of these two. ;)

When I heard that Melissa was expecting, I immediately started planning her maternity session.  When I told her what I had in mind, she was excited.  She talked to her husband, who talked to the captain… and when the answer came back yes, we headed out to the firehouse and captured some meaningful images.

Cory and Melissa, you two are the absolute sweetest people in the world and I know you are going to be AWESOME parents.  Thank you for allowing me to capture this time for you.  Melissa – seriously, you rock.  I can’t believe all the hiking, climbing and trekking you did with me to get these.  You’re a serious trooper!  Lol!  I know it was hot but you kept right up with the vision!  :)  THANK YOU!

Here’s a little sneak peek… enjoy!  :)
