Not too long ago, my backyard patio housed the nest of a sweet red robin family. My kids and I enjoyed watching them build their nest and watch over their eggs (and later babies) with great awe and anticipation. I wanted to watch them grow and learn to fly. I tried to anticipate the cycle just right so that I could witness the event. However, much to my disappointment and dismay, I missed it by a few hours. One morning they were there… and that very night I noticed they were gone. Just.like.that. It felt like it happened in the blink of an eye! I realize it was only a few weeks time that this all transpired but… we grew quite attached to that little family!
So I wonder, how much more so will I be saddened by my children leaving their nest? I don’t even like to think about it! I know that day will come and as a parent, I can only pray and have faith that the little seeds and foundation that I lay for my precious children will blossom and grow and produce honest, hard working, independent young people. They will be, and are shaped by each any every person they come into contact with and so far, I am very proud of my kiddos.
Okay, okay, enough with *my* sentimentality… and onto telling you what brought out all that mushy-gushiness in me.
I had the pleasure of spending some time with an incredible family. They love they share with one another is so pure, so true… so FUN!
I laughed a lot during this session and admired the way the Morgan family interacted with one another.
Mrs. Morgan contacted me with the goal of capturing this one last summer of them as a whole. This is it… the nest is empty. Mom and Dad have done an AMAZING job raising amazing young adults. And I feel honored to have been able to help freeze this moment in time, forever, just for them.
Thank you for allowing me to capture this last moment of your family in their “home nest”… even though your hatchlings are “all grown up” and leaving, they will always cherish the love and safety of the nest they grew up in. May your family be blessed with many, many more years together.
Congrats to Jocelyn once again for graduating class of 2011! Good luck to Taylor and Kyle as they embark on their new chapters of their lives as well!
Enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by today! Be BLESSED!
