I recently had the privilege of meeting a precious little girl who wanted to donate some of her beautiful long hair to Locks of Love. After witnessing first hand the side effects that chemo can have on a person, she asked her mom if she could give their cancer stricken friend the hair off of her own head… does that not pull on your heartstrings or what?? Her mom explained the process, the appointment was made and off they went. I came along to document the experience and let me tell you, I had a huge lump of gratitude/joy/sentimentality stuck in my throat. As a witness myself of watching loved ones go through cancer and the effects the treatments and emotions have on family and friends, I can say that it really touched my heart that someone so young would give such a selfless gift….
