The *L* brothers…

October 20, 2008

We awoke to a dreary morning with gray clouds and drizzle.

As we were driving to meet our spunky duo, a part of me was wondering if we were going to have to reschedule.  Was it going to start raining?  Would the clouds keep the sun in seclusion for long?

We decided to continue on to our destination with high hopes that the sun would make an appearance soon… very, very soon.

As we arrived and greeted our new friends, we knew that this session was going to be FUN.  These brothers are so full of life and personality!  We sat in our cars for a few minutes to let the rain pass us by and then jumped out into the dirt and started playing.

The boys were a joy to work with.  Extremely photogenic and personable, they had fun and let us have fun with them!  Thank you *L* family for the opportunity to capture your boys personality!  :)

Here are a few sneak peeks of the session….. enjoy!  (Click on the thumbnails to view them larger…)

Via Arte 2008

October 13, 2008

There was a slight chill in the air as the artists bustled about, gathering their things, intensely preparing for a long day full of chalk dust and sun.

Large squares filled with grids and sketches lined the street, ready for an artist to transform the space into a magical little world of vibrant color.

As one walked down the row of the multitude of beautifully creative individuals, one couldn’t help but stand in awe and amazement of the beauty of these creations.

Laying on the asphalt and feeling right at home in their medium.  Pastel and chalk dust smeared on the cheeks and skin.  No one noticing or even caring.  It was all about the moment, the art, the masterpiece in making.

The appreciation and respect that each individual had for not only their own space and art but for their neighbors as well was a beautiful sight.

This past Saturday and Sunday, October 11th and 12th, 2008, Via Arte was at the Marketplace once more.  This time celebrating their 10th anniversary.  If you missed it, you missed a spectacular sight.  The colors were amazing.  I didn’t know that chalk could be that deep, that vibrant.  It was amazing to watch as each artist paid close attention to the smallest of details.  I’m sad that we were not able to go back on Sunday afternoon to see the finished pieces but I know that they were out of this world.

Here are a few photos that we were able to get early Saturday morning.  Thank you to all who blessed us with your talents and thank you to those that allowed us to take your photo and post them here on our blog.  :)  We truly enjoyed your art and wish you the best of luck in your futures as artists.  Feel free to download these web photos to your computers.  If you would like higher resolution photos, please email me and I would be happy to send you a printable copy.  (Click on the photos for a larger view)

Thanks for taking the time to visit!  Have a GREAT and BLESSED day!

Sylvia: OMG!! Mr. Sherwyn was my art teacher.. he was a HUGE influence in my life..(makeup+love= ART) I did the via arte festival with him and some other students in high school...

Recently, my husband and I had the pleasure of going to the movies together for an impromptu date night.  We watched a wonderful movie called Fireproof.  It is a MUST see!  It might not get a huge “Hollywood” following as it is not your typical drama or Hollywood’s idea of marriage and relationships.  In contrary, it is a wonderful testimony as to how God views our marriages and what marriage was designed for in the first place. Most importantly, it shows us to “fireproof” them and protect ourselves from the parasites of this world.  Take a minute to open your mind and watch this preview:

You should also check out their website: www.fireproofthemovie.com
If you’ve already seen it, please leave us a comment and let us know how you liked it. :)

Speaking of relationships, my husband and I have been making a huge effort and sacrifice to spend more time together and with our precious babies. We have spent time at the park, driving around doing quickie photo shoots and just enjoying this precious, fleeting time with every ounce of joy in our hearts. Here are a few photos…

Me and the baby had just gotten off the slide and while full of the crazy static electricity you acquire while sliding down these things, my adventurous son decided it was hilarious to chase me and “shock” me… lol!

Awww… how sweet! My incredibly sweet husband!

(He’s going to kill me for posting this but I couldn’t resist! He’s too cute!) ;)

:( He’s getting so BIG!!!

Yeeeaaaah…. don’t let that lil angelic grin fool ya! lol! ;)

All that running around makes us thirsty!

Some faves of our lil diva… lol!

Thanks for taking the time to stop by today!  :)  Have a wonderful and BLESSED day!
