Rock Steady

September 29, 2008

The theme of the event… Our Love is Rock Steady.

Gwen Stefani inspired, the decor was to die for.  Deep, pure shades of turquoise and crimson, the color saturation was amazing!

The mood was light.  Upbeat.  Fun.

Was this really a wedding?  Where was the nervous bride?  We searched to no avail.  All we found was calm, cool, confident, GORGEOUS Sylvia.  The beautiful bride that was to be married in just a few hours was too enthralled in fun to be bothered with jitters and nerves.

We walked into the bridal house to girls rockin’ out and singing, getting rockstar layers, updos and makeup for the glamorous event.  Who can possibly call this work when the bride and her girls are so much FUN?  It felt more like we were paparazzi for a red carpet event or photographers for a runway show at Fashion Week.

Outside the 4 walls of the quaint white doll house holding the bride, a blurred glance across the luscious green grass told you that the groom had arrived.  Bounding out of his vehicle with an intense joy and celebratory demeanor, his energy was contagious!  You could literally feel his heart bursting with excitement!

The groomsmen were full of jokes and loving wisecracks.  As they shared a pre-wedding toast, one could see that they were truly happy for their friend, their brother.  The fun-loving, caring soul that they knew and loved much was soon to be a husband…

Sylvia and Lorenzo were made for one another.  Full of life and spark, they are truly a dynamic duo!  They had everyone laughing and giggling with each part of the ceremony.  From their vows and facial expressions to their commentary and ad libbing, they showed all that they are going to live, laugh and love much…

Sylvia and Lorenzo, thank you for inviting us to be a part of your magical day.  It was a pleasure and a privilege to witness and capture such a fabulous event!  May you live a long and Rock Steady love! ;)

Thanks, Michelle for inviting me to help you with this rockstar wedding!  I had a blast!

Here are some photos of the glam and fun!  Enjoy…

Thanks for taking the time to visit today!  Have a wonderfully BLESSED day!

Class of 2009

September 17, 2008

What is it about senior portraits that is so exciting?  Is it the anticipation of becoming an “adult”?  The excitement that this is IT… high school is almost over…  or maybe it’s the freedom of being able to get portraits done that better define you as an individual instead of the normal “sit and here and say cheese” photo.  ???  I say… all of the above!

I remember my senior year of high school.  I was so ready to be an “adult”.  Funny thing is, once you’re an adult, you wish you were a kid again!  Isn’t it ironic??  lol…

I had the privilege of spending an afternoon with Ben.  Ben is not your typical 17 year old kid.  He has wisdom way beyond his years.  Respectable, quiet, calm.  The one kid you would want your kid to hang out with!  :)

Ben, it was a pleasure.  I hope you enjoy your senior year of high school and finish with flair.  I am confident that you will realize all the dreams of your heart.  Go for it! Remember, I want a personal invite to your gourmet restaurant opening!  Don’t forget the little people when you become famous!  ;)

I’d like to take this time to announce Ben, class of 2009…..  Congratulations!

Thanks for taking the time to visit!  I hope you have a wonderfully blessed day! :)

A Saturday evening wedding…

September 16, 2008

The mood was serene.  Beautiful.  Excited.

As people began milling around and gathering in the designated areas, a bride and a groom waited nervously.  Wondering what the future holds.  Excited to embark on the journey together.  The bridal party fluttered about nervously and excitedly as they realized that the girl they had seen grow up was now going to become a woman; a wife.  The groomsmen goofed around and watched in amazement as their friend grew to be a man; about to become a husband.

The day started off as any wedding day does.  Excited.  Nervous.  Bittersweet. A mix of emotions…  and ended in pure matrimonial bliss.  I feel truly blessed to have been able to share in this blessed day.

Thank you, Michelle for inviting me along to shoot with you and help capture such a beautiful family.  I enjoyed second shooting for you.  Can’t wait to do it again soon!

Thank you, Gabriel and Erica for allowing me to witness such a beautiful union.  May God truly bless your marriage and life to come… :)

I now present to you Mr. & Mrs. Gabriel and Erica Leyba…..

Thank you for stopping by!  Have a blessed and wonderful day!
