A few weeks ago, I heard a friend of mine tell my son that he’s known me “for almost 20 years.”  PPPfffft.  20 years?  No way.  There’s no way possible way that I’ve had a friend “for almost 20 years”…. (I say this because as an Army brat, we’ve moved so often that it’s difficult to stay in touch with friends that long…)

Have I really been a resident in the wonderful town of Bakersfield for “almost 20 years”?  It feels like just yesterday that we packed up our lives and said “goodbye” to Germany…

It’s amazing how life has a way of  reminding you to slow down.  Smell the roses.  Enjoy your time here while you can.  Cherish your time with your loved ones… because it won’t be too long before you’re sitting on your front porch in your rocking chair reminiscing over your life and wondering where the time went.  :)

So Richard, right back at ya… dear old friend of “20 years”, thanks for letting me capture your precious babies forever in time for you and your family.  It’s amazing that we’ve all grown up and had kids of our own to raise.  Almost scary… lol!

What exactly does that mean?  For a beautiful young latina it means she’s about to graduate from “little girl” to “woman”.  For her parents, well, it’s time to let go and let her flourish… as a mom myself, I’m *eeek*ing at the very thought of it… why do our little beauties have to grow up? :’(

I got to spend some time with such a beauty not too long ago and we had  a lot of fun capturing her essence in a preliminary photo shoot.  :)

Then comes a baby in a baby carriage!

Such is the story for Kassandra & Rob… they met, fell in love, got engaged, got married… and had a beautiful baby girl!  It was such an honor and my extreme pleasure to be able to capture so many important memories for this beautiful family…

One of my goals when I first started on my photographic journey was to become a lifetime photographer.  To be able to create a bond with a couple and continue capturing their beautiful memories as they grew one by one…  Kassandra & Rob - thank you for trusting me and allowing me to witness and capture so many of your priceless memories.  :)  You are near and dear to my heart!  Congratulations and I look forward to capturing even more of your life stories!
